Madonna’s New Album

Madonna claims her new album will be “magic”

“Give Me All Your Luvin” is the first single from Madonna’s new upcoming album MDN.  The single features Nicki Minaj and is co-written by M.I.A.  A sneak peek of the video, will air on Feb 2nd in an exclusive world preview on American Idol.  You can also check out Madonna’s YouTube channel on Feb 3rd for the full video of “Give Me All Your Luvin”.  Along with checkin’ it out, you can go onto iTunes and pre-order the 18 track Deluxe Edition of MDNA!

One thing I do have to comment on (trying to bite my tongue but can’t) is the use of the word “Luvin”, seriously? Anyways..

Madonna will be performing at half-time at this years Super Bowl, I am among many people that are excited to cheer on the New York Giants and watch her perform.  Very exciting! Let’s hope Madonna still has the “magic” touch after her four year hiatus from making music!

Valentino 2012 Couture

Virgin Suicides meets modern-day Pride and Prejudice.

Valentino’s designers, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, have really brought back the turn of the century with this years Haute Couture collection.

I have to admit, my favorite piece is probably the ivory cape.  I am really loving capes right now. (hello Miu Miu‘s Spring Collection=my favorite) Maybe it has to do with my love for fairytale stories like Little Red Riding Hood, but I find them enchanting.  My mother has just given me this vintage cape she has had for years and I am in love with it.

I am also really loving the maxi dresses which are present in a lot of collections this Spring.  The use of floral prints and embroidered taffeta was highlighted in many of these delicate pieces.  Their accessories consisted of Lace-embroidered gloves, flat passementerie-encrusted slippers and tulle ruffs. These Valentino dresses look incredibly feminine and tailored to perfection. To die!

Winehouse tribute in Paris Fashion Week

” Ms. Winehouse may seem a strange symbol for couture, but like her, couture is fragile, rare, free-spirited, ornery — and when it’s gone, it’s gone.” – The New York Times

In the Jean Paul Gaultier’s latest fashion show in France, he paid tribute to the late singer, Amy Winehouse.  Just Wednesday the French designer had the models sport bee-hive hair-do’s, which was Ms. Winehouse’s iconic look, at Paris Fashion Week.  What I really find outrageous is that he also had some of the models smoke cigarettes on the runway as well.  I am not sure if that is pushing it a little bit too far.  I am thinking this was one of the reasons some people were not too happy with this tribute.  Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch, who she was very close to, thought the tribute was in “bad taste.”  He posted on his twitter account–

“We don’t support the Jean Paul Gaultier (sic) collection. It’s in bad taste.”

The opinions can go either way but I do believe Gaultier had pure intentions.  Amy Winehouse was one of a kind and her last album “Back to Black” was truly fantastic.  As of her fashion sense, she was so bold and created her own look.  I feel as though Jean Paul Gaultier’s gesture was just a way of showing the fashionista that was masked by the drugs and alcohol.

Good News!

Seems like all my old favorite artists are coming back with new music! The Cranberries have announced that they will be returning with a new album February 27th. The album is called Roses and their new single off the album is called “Tomorrow”, which is currently available on iTunes. The track is pretty good.  I hope the album can compare to Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?  “Linger” is definitely one of my all time favorites from that album.  Here is the track list for Roses.

Album Tracks

  1. Conduct
  2. Tomorrow
  3. Fire And Soul
  4. Raining
  5. Losing My Mind
  6. Schizophrenic Playboy
  7. Waiting
  8. Show Me The Way
  9. Astral Projection
  10. So Good
  11. Roses

Jimmy Choo Spring 2012

I don’t know whether to love or hate these new clutches from the Spring 2012 accessories collection from Jimmy Choo.  I am kinda leaning towards love even though they would normally not be my style.  I am always scared I will lose my clutches but I guess this is the perfect way of avoiding that. Choo is always known to be a bit daring and I think these clutches that attach to your wrist are pretty ground breaking. What do you guys think?

Shoe Lover

My real passion of the fashion world is by far, shoes.  Whether it is my favorite pair of converse or my vintage suede Prada shoes that my mother gave to me, I am in awe of every detail. I love looking up celebrity shoe closets because they are truly amazing.  One day I will be creating a closet that can compare to these..
