Blow Dry Bars Blowin’ Up.

Blow Dry Bars seem to be the up and coming thing, especially in NYC.  Blow Dry Bars leave the cuts and color to your go-to salons and leave a professional blowout to them.  The greatest thing is that these blowouts come a lot cheaper than if you were to get one at your local salon.  Besides being more affordable, their way faster so you can get a quicky before a hot date (no pun intended) or before a work meeting. Blow is the hottest spot in NYC to get your blow out fix.  Although it started in 2005, the trend has been somehow boosted this year.  Check out the info below to schedule your very own affordable, fast blow out in NYC and let me know what ya think.

Love This Look.

So I went to a flea market this past weekend and got some great finds.  My favorite was the brown bracelet I am wearing below and I decided to work a day outfit around it.  I needed an outfit that was simple but wanted to spice it up with my accessories.

I loved matching the Steve Madden studded sandals with my studded bracelets.  With so much bling I kept it really simple with a hoodie and plain jean shorts.  Although you could push it with studded shorts, I definitely don’t like too much.

This week my nails are even shinier than my jewelry with this nail polish by Mattese Elite Nails which I bought at Ricky’s in NYC. The color is Nutty Hat Guy (quite similar to OPI’s Mad As A Hatter) and I am in love with it.  With just two coats it sparkles more than any other nail polish I have ever used. The only negative I have with it, is that it chips very easily unlike OPI’s and I find myself applying coats more often to keep the color.  I have also tried Mattese’s solid colors which definitely don’t chip as much.

Get The Look: Boat Shoes

Boat Shoes seem to be the up and coming trend of the summer.  I really love the style and they are great for both men and women.  The shoes come in various colors and patterns and have really come far from the average yacht club pair.  I really think these 5 pairs are chic and sophisticated without pushing it.  What do you think?  Too old school or can this trend really work?

My OPI Shatter Nails.

Shatter nails have been quite the rave for a while now but I have never really gotten into the trend.  I have tried various brands of shatter nail polishes but none did the trick.  Finally, I tried Shatter by OPI and became obsessed.  I now have a bunch of colors but the pink from Pink of Hearts 2011 is my color of the week.  At around $5 the polish is super cheap.  I put two coats on top of Ballet Slippers by Essie.  I love this look because they glam up any outfit.  Try shatter over sparkled nail polish for an even more dramatic look.

Love This Look: Bandanas

I am in love with mixing up an outfit with a bandana.  Not only does it switch up your look, it is super cute.  Seriously, a bandana doesn’t have to be just for cleaning up the house.  Adding a pair of pearls like the ones I have on below or even a girly necklace will make your look less cleaning lady and more sexy housewife.  I started the day with barrel curls which I thought were perfect with the look and then as the day went on I ended up with a loose up-do which had more of a “Rosie the Riveter” look, which I actually liked.  What do you think of this look?
