Lana Del Rey posted two photos today on her Facebook that have everybody talking. One is an awesome picture of the iconic bathing suit shot of Marilyn Monroe edited with Lana Del Rey in it. It looks pretty legit. The second is a bit more scandalous. The picture consists of Lana in a 50′s cartoon-like photo with the words “My P**** Tastes Like Pepsi Cola.” Hm, a bit much if I do say so myself. Check them out.
Lana Del Rey portrays both Jackie and Marilyn in her newest video, “National Anthem.”
So last night I was able to get pretty damn close to many of my favorite celebrities and swoon over their magnificent gowns. It was quite amazing. The Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was filled with every A-lister you could possibly think of last night in honor of the great designers, Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli for the new exhibition, “Impossible Conversations.” There is a reason why they call it “The Oscars of the East Coast”, every powerful name in the industry was there.
If you thought last years Gala was filled with dramatic fashions, I think this year topped it. Here are my top 10 looks from last night. Simply gorgeous!

The Costume Institute Gala, better known as the Met Gala is tomorrow night and I am so excited to see what everyone will be wearing. The steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (which I happen to live right by) are where all of these amazing designers, actresses, singers, and models will be wearing gowns to die for. These steps are a stage for each person to show off and present their dresses like a piece of art. It truly is “The Oscars of the East Coast.” If only their was a live stream so us regular-folk could take a glimpse at what is like on that red carpet. Well our wishes came true this year with the first ever live stream!! Viewers can watch the arrivals at Vogue.com tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. You can also submit questions via twitter under the hashtag #metquestions. Can’t wait to see who each designer brings as their date and who everyone will wear. We hear Heidi Klum will wear Escada, Lana Del Rey will wear custom Altuzarra and that Anthony Vaccarello will dress model Anja Rubik. We also hear that Derek Lam is taking Katharina Harf and that Alexander Wang will be taking Azealia Banks. Carey Mulligan will be hosting with Miuccia Prada as this years honoree so I am almost positive she’ll be dressed in Prada. As for last years gala, there was an abundance of fabulous dresses. I had to pick my 5 favorites which are below. Wonder who will be donning my 5 favorites of 2012. We shall see.
As you know by now, I am a huge fan of Lana Del Rey’s but I have to pick on her right now for her newly released “Blue Jeans” video. It could possibly be the dullest video I have ever seen. Besides her raunchy deep throating (fast-forward to 1:21), the video is pretty lackluster.
The video was leaked yesterday but rumors circulated that there was major editing to be done. It looks like that wasn’t the case, considering Lana’s official Facebook has just released the official video. A black and white scene of her in a pool with the same tatted up dude as “Born To Die” doesn’t really do it for me. It would be a little better if alligators (huh?) didn’t swim around the bottom of the pool and if the tatted man (who ends up turning into one- bigger huh?) didn’t eventually get her in the end. Just plain bizarre. Still in love with the song though! ha
