Calling All New Yorkers : Prada’s Relaunch

In honor of the Prada and Schiaparelli exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Prada is offering an amazing collection of re-edition bags.  Nine iconic Prada bags in both original and new colors will be available tomorrow till August 19th.  The bags will be in Prada’s New York stores. Lucky us!  The collection will feature the brands “greatest hits” which spand from 1991-2005.  Amazing.

Met Ball Fashions 2012.

So last night I was able to get pretty damn close to many of my favorite celebrities and swoon over their magnificent gowns.  It was quite amazing.   The Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was filled with every A-lister you could possibly think of  last night in honor of the great designers, Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli for the new exhibition, “Impossible Conversations.” There is a reason why they call it “The Oscars of the East Coast”, every powerful name in the industry was there.

If you thought last years Gala was filled with dramatic fashions, I think this year topped it.  Here are my top 10 looks from last night.  Simply gorgeous!

Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gabbana

Beyonce finally in Givenchy Haute Couture

Lana Del Rey in Joseph Altuzarra

Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhuillier

Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren

Emma Roberts in Escada

Leighton Meester in Marchesa

Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan Atelier

January Jones in Versace

Met Gala 2012.

The Costume Institute Gala, better known as the Met Gala is tomorrow night and I am so excited to see what everyone will be wearing.  The steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (which I happen to live right by) are where all of these amazing designers, actresses, singers, and models will be wearing gowns to die for.  These steps are a stage for each person to show off and present their dresses like a piece of art. It truly is “The Oscars of the East Coast.”  If only their was a live stream so us regular-folk could take a glimpse at what is like on that red carpet.  Well our wishes came true this year with the first ever live stream!!  Viewers can watch the arrivals at Vogue.com tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.  You can also submit questions via twitter under the hashtag #metquestions.  Can’t wait to see who each designer brings as their date and who everyone will wear.  We hear Heidi Klum will wear Escada, Lana Del Rey will wear custom Altuzarra and that Anthony Vaccarello will dress model Anja Rubik.  We also hear that Derek Lam is taking Katharina Harf and that Alexander Wang will be taking Azealia Banks.  Carey Mulligan will be hosting with Miuccia Prada as this years honoree so I am almost positive she’ll be dressed in Prada.  As for last years gala, there was an abundance of fabulous dresses.  I had to pick my 5 favorites which are below.  Wonder who will be donning my 5 favorites of 2012. We shall see.

Ashley Greene in Donna Karan

Taylor Swift in a  J. Mendel

Beyoncé in a custom-made Emilio Pucci

Jennifer Lopez in a Gucci

Gisele Bunchen in McQueen
