Apparently the backstage of Mara Hoffman’s show was a tropical island.  All the models came out looking glorious in beachy looks donned with Hawaiian leaves in their hair.  The colors popped and her personal, laid back style, really shined through.  Between the tribal print and Aloha printed shirt, I think we can all guess what her theme was.photos by IMAXtree

My OPI Shatter Nails.

Shatter nails have been quite the rave for a while now but I have never really gotten into the trend.  I have tried various brands of shatter nail polishes but none did the trick.  Finally, I tried Shatter by OPI and became obsessed.  I now have a bunch of colors but the pink from Pink of Hearts 2011 is my color of the week.  At around $5 the polish is super cheap.  I put two coats on top of Ballet Slippers by Essie.  I love this look because they glam up any outfit.  Try shatter over sparkled nail polish for an even more dramatic look. 

Rihanna Looking As Gorgeous As Ever In Marchesa.

Rihanna really changed it up when it comes to her style with this Marchesa dress.  She rocked this magenta pink dress at the Time’s 100 Most Influential People Awards. (which list she obviously made)  The party was in our very own NYC in Lincoln Center.  It wouldn’t be a Rihanna outfit if she didn’t have killer, black, crystallised-heeled Christian Louboutin’s to make the outfit a bit more rockerish.  I love this look on her and it is really nice to see her in full Barbie-glam. I got a feel for Marilyn Monroe circa “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.”  Clearly they’ll be preferring brunettes now! Love it!

Pink Streaks.. the New Trend.

So it looks like the candy-colored hair trend is here to stay and I’m kinda loving it. Although I am not so into the drastic look of electric blue like Katy Perry’s, I am really loving the simple streaks of color. We saw a lot of pastel hair color in this years Fashion Week in both Thakoon and Charlotte Ronson shows and now stars are showing up with it left and right.  The newest star happens to be January Jones.  The “Mad Men” actress was spotted recently with bubblegum pink streaks throughout her bleached blonde hair.  What do you guys think of this new trend? Love it or hate it?
