So Miu Miu has dropped a series of videos for their Spring 2013 campaign. The videos include models such as Arizona Muse, Doutzen Kroes, Bette Franke and Adriana Lima and definitely have a darker feel to them. It is so hard to pick which model stole the show. They all give their little something to the video, don’t you think?
So people mistakenly think dressing in all black makes you look like your going to a funeral. I am going to have to disagree. As an avid fan of the color black, I may be bias, but I think you can really rock it. Today I had a meeting and wanted to dress up and be comfortable at the same time. I decided on my new peplum zip-up I recently got from Anthropologie for my birthday thanks to mamadukes. I paired it with simple black riding pants from J.Crew and my ALL TIME FAVORITE Prada mary-janes, which so happen to be velvet. I do think a perfect pair of heels can make any outfit and these babies do the trick. My bag is from the Gap and it’s simple yet has a funky colorful lining which I love. Along with electric yellow nails and some funky purple eyeshadow (you can’t see in the picture) I think this look is perfect for a meeting/interview/shopping etc. What do you think? Too simple or simply enough? 
Between metallic socks and asian-inspired get-ups, I am not really lovin’ Prada’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Miuccia Prada is known for pushing boundaries and delivering us some odd pieces, but this collection did nothing for me. No “WOW” factor, whatsoever. Miuccia explained that she wanted to show pieces that normally wouldn’t fly and women can’t wear on the daily. She said she wanted women to be able to wear these pieces, ”without being laughed at, and tried to make them more acceptable”.
Although one of these pieces, like an adult onesie I do love the idea of (I am so serious), I just wish the fit on the models was a tad less “We can all see your camel toe.” Am I wrong? Hm.. I must say, the floral designs on the fur pieces were very retro and fun and a few of the bags were super cute, especially the furry one with the chain handle. Altogether it was a bit blasé for me.

Fashion’s Night Out was all kinds of fun for me and my gal pals. We started out early and tried to hit up as many stores (& drinks!) as we could. Between the discounts, deals, and free treats, we all has a blast. We started out on Broadway and pretty much stayed in that general area, through Mercer st. Along the way, the shops that stood out the most to me were definitely Phillip Lim 3.1(finally got my hands on that comic book), Prada (live performance), and Paige(great jeans & great cupcakes).All in all, it was a fabulous night, which I believe no one should miss out on. What was your fav spots of the night?
Prada’s new Fall 2012 ad campaign is quite interesting. Shot by Steven Meisel, models Magdalena Frackowiak and Anne Vyalitsina look crisp and yet intense playing a game of chess. The video is said to be, “A virtual labyrinth of fantasy and reality. Shifting camera angles and an endless depth of field create a playful illusion of perspective and proportion, recalling the setting for a videogame. The effect of the campaign is a new take on beauty and a futuristic vision of fantasy and desire.” What do you guys think?
I think it’s a lot of fun to mix and match, especially when it comes to your clothing and accessories. What I did with this look is I dressed up what would be a normally very casual look by simply adding some major costume jewelry bling. I find jewelry like this at flea markets and thrift stores. With this maxi skirt and a simple black tank top, I think the jewelry really livens it up. I wore Forever 21 bow flats that are basically like my staple when it comes to daytime flats and then switched it to my black suede, Prada pumps for night-time glam. What do you guys think of this look?
I am really into polka dots right now and I figured I show you guys my NYC look today. I got this dress from my mother which she bought at a little boutique in the Hamptons a few weeks ago. I paired the dress with Prada suede heels, a simple pair of pearls, a metallic bracelet and black Rayban Wayfarer sunglasses. It is always great to balance cheap great finds with some of your pricier pieces. The dress was only $60, the bracelet a mere $15 and a pair of Rayban’s run for about $150. What do you guys think of the look?
Here is a look at the costumes sketches for Madonna’s new MDMA tour. The outfits are going to be insane and have a crazy amount of high-end designer collaborators. The outfits are by Jean Paul Gaultier and Jeremy Scott, shoes from Prada and Miu Miu and pieces from Alexander Wang. Dolce & Gabbana made suits for the band and background vocalists, Fausto Puglisi created menacing bandolier vests and rams head masks for the backup dancers and J Brand made custom-made jeans for the tour. How crazy is that? The tour starts this Thursday, can’t wait to see how she rocks these looks!

In honor of the Prada and Schiaparelli exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Prada is offering an amazing collection of re-edition bags. Nine iconic Prada bags in both original and new colors will be available tomorrow till August 19th. The bags will be in Prada’s New York stores. Lucky us! The collection will feature the brands “greatest hits” which spand from 1991-2005. Amazing.
