WWD reports that Lanvin has broken the mold when it comes to their new fall advertisements. The fashion house led by Alber Elbaz has put real life non-models from 18-80 in their shots. Photographed by Steven Meisel in NYC these shots will be featured in all of our September issues. Elbaz told WWD, ”I was interested to bring these clothes back to the street somehow, and seeing how they look on different ages, different sizes … It felt like a crazy family, and I like that.” Although they are “average people” they will of course look chic as hell! Could this be a new trend though? Will we be seeing our neighbors in Vogue magazine from here on out?
My favorite photographer, Steven Meisel, has shot this #overthetop cover of Vogue Italia. Model Joan Smalls, will be the first woman of color to be on the cover of an issue since 2008. 4 freakin years!
The picture is beautiful and she looks stunning. The colors are very vibrant and like the cover states, from the make-up to those crazy nails, the cover is definitely over the top!
